About the Presenter:
Prof. Franco Casamassima graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1964 at University of Perugia, Italy, and specialized in Radiology and Radiation Therapy in 1969 and in Nuclear Medicine in 1972 at University of Firenze, Italy. He had been an Associate Professor of Diagnostic imaging and Radiotherapy, Faculty of Medicine, at University of Firenze since 1980 and is currently Full Professor at the same University. He has been the Director of the Clinical Radiobiological Center of the University of Firenze since 1998. Prof. Casamassima is the author of more than 140 papers on radiation therapy and oncological diagnostics published in Italian and international journals. He is a member of the Italian Oncological Radiotherapy Association (AIRO), of the European Society of Radiation Oncology (ESTRO) and of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ASTRO). He has been elected member of the Board of Directors of AIRO. He is participating in the Cyberknife program of Vicenza Hospital since 2003, being appointed Expert Consultant for extracranial treatments by the Hospital management.
