Purpose/Objective:
The use of IGRT has increased dramatically over the past 5 years. Most vendors have commerciallyavailable IGRT products that allow daily 3D imaging of the target (or a surrogate) in the treatment room. In most cases, these systems have a slow acquisition that results in a blurring of the motion. For many cases (especially lung) there is a need for in-room 4D imaging. The purpose of this work was to develop a technique for acquiring 4D Megavoltage CT (MVCT) images on a helical tomotherapy system.
