Abstract # 1086 Ultrasound vs. Seed Marker Prostate Localization

From 40 patients, 1019 US and 1019 simultaneous SM measurements were obtained. Lateral, vertical, and longitudinal dimensional comparisons reveal differences in mean shifts (p <0.0001 for all, see Table 1). US reveals greater variability in lateral and longitudinal dimensions (p <0.0001). The US 3D vector is greater/more variable than the SM vector (p <0.0001). The 3D relationship of measured US and SM patient/prostate positional data was plotted. The mean US/SM 3D distance discrepancy is 8.8 mm (significantly >5 mm, p <0.0001).
