Results:
There were 12 (55%) male and 10 (45%) female patients analyzed with a median age of 10 years at treatment (range: 3 to 21 years). The pathology was grade 1 (pilocytic astrocytoma) in 15 (68%) patients, grade 2 in 5 (23%) patients, and 2 (9%) patients had a presumed low-grade histology but did not have a diagnostic biopsy. There were 14 (64%) supratentorial gliomas, 6 (27%) cerebellar/brainstem gliomas, and 2 (9%) spinal gliomas. The median radiation dose delivered to the tumor was 52.2 CGE with a range of 49.84 to 54.0 CGE. The median follow-up for this cohort is 10.4 months with a range of 1.4 months to 9.5 years. The two-year PFS and OS are both 100 percent in this group. All 22 patients are alive without evidence of tumor progression at last follow-up. Nine patients (41%) have been followed beyond 2 years.
